How we make money
Reader-supported. Brands never pay for verdicts.
One revenue stream funds this site: retail affiliate commissions. Here is exactly how that works and what it can't buy.
Affiliate links
When we link to a product at a retailer, some links are affiliate links — if you buy, the retailer pays us a commission at no change to your price. Rates differ between retailers and categories. That's precisely why scores are locked before links are added: a product's verdict is set by the evidence, then we link to wherever it's genuinely available.
What brands cannot do here
- Buy a verdict, a ranking position, or a "best" badge — at any price.
- Pay for placement, advertorial or sponsored reviews. We run none.
- Send us free units in exchange for coverage — we don't accept review samples.
What you can hold us to
- Every price shown was verified at the retailer and dated — unverified prices don't render.
- Owner sentiment is cited to real, resolvable threads. We never invent quotes.
- Errors get fixed in the open on our corrections page.
The scoring method itself is documented at how we score.
